They've got me coming and going....
So, in a well-intentioned attempt to keep people from being burdened by guilt in his sermon this morning, Eric gave me two reasons to feel guilty about feeling guilty...1.It's unhealthily self-obsessive. Guilt requires one to sit there thinking about oneself for long periods of time. Therefore it is selfish.
2.On a related note, it's unproductive. Guilty people aren't interested in helping others or doing useful stuff.
GAAAHHHHH!

Help, I feel trapped!
oh dear...that's not good...well to continue the guilt theme in this posting...I feel guilty for ignoring our friendship...I was going to call yesterday, but got sidetracked by ubernet and knitting...SOrry :( Oh and also guilty for skipping out on youth when I said I would be there and then not answering the Yth Pastor's calls :D but that's different
Isn't it just like Christianity to try and make you do more for others by making you feel guilty about your guilt-complex (which the church in no small part created)?
Personally, I think God wants you to be happy with yourself first (and that means being able to live with your decisions and your mistakes) before moving on to saving the world. So less guilt (even about guilt itself) is a good thing. Go have a bath, read a book, and then buy something for yourself without worrying about how much it costs or who made it.
heee hee, thanks Kath. No worries about Sunday; after all, I didn't call you either! Bento: I don't think I can do that!!
AMEN BENTO!
Although I did buy some eco-friendly wool the other day at WalMart (oh the paradox)...I think I may be getting soft. Time to eat veal, while shopping at the GAP, which I drove to (by myself mind you) in my HUMMER, without my seatbelt on, in my baby seal fur coat while smoking 100 dollar bills... MUAH HA HA HA...
